AN ACT making daylight savings time permanent.

This bill provides that daylight savings time shall be the official time of the state of New Hampshire throughout the year.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Three

AN ACT making daylight savings time permanent.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Section; Conversion from Standard Time. Amend RSA 21 by inserting after section 36 the following new section:

21:36-a Official Time. The standard time within the state shall be one hour in advance of United States Eastern Standard Time, as established by 15 U. S. C. sections 261 and 263. This time shall be known as "New Hampshire Time" and it shall govern all laws, orders, decrees, and rules relating to the time of performance of any officer or department of this state, or of any county, city, town, or district thereof, or relating to the time in which any rights accrue or determine, or within which any act shall or shall not be performed by any person subject to the jurisdiction of this state, or of any county, city, town, or district thereof. In all contracts or choses in action made or to be performed in this state, it shall be understood and intended that the time shall be as set forth in this section.

2 Repeal. RSA 21:36, relative to the standard time within the state, is repealed.

3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
