HOUSE BILL 204
AN ACT relative to venue in juvenile proceedings.
AMENDED ANALYSIS
This bill provides that juvenile proceedings may be initiated in any judicial district where the offense is alleged to have occurred.
This bill was requested by the department of justice.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Three
AN ACT relative to venue in juvenile proceedings.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
253:1 Delinquent Children; Venue. Amend RSA 169-B:5, I to read as follows:
I. Proceedings under this chapter may be originated in any judicial district in which the minor is found or resides, or where the offense is alleged to have occurred.
253:2 Delinquent Children; Petition. Amend RSA 169-B:6, I to read as follows:
I. Any person may file a petition, alleging the delinquency of a minor, with a judge or clerk of the court in the judicial district in which the minor is found or resides or where the offense is alleged to have occurred. The petition shall be in writing and verified under oath.
253:3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
