AN ACT relative to the salaries of elected town officials.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Three

AN ACT relative to the salaries of elected town officials.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Section; Salaries of Town Officers. Amend RSA 41 by inserting after section 1 the following new section:

41:1-a Salaries of Town Officers. At its annual meeting each town shall determine the salaries of its elected officials and other officers, the town clerk shall certify the same to the selectmen, and the salaries shall not thereafter be reduced.

2 Salaries of District Board and Officers. Amend RSA 194:10 to read as follows:

194:10 Salaries of District Board and Officers. At its annual meeting each school district shall determine the salaries of its school board and other district officers, [and] the district clerk shall certify the same to the selectmen, and the salaries shall not thereafter be reduced.

3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
