AN ACT relative to the adoption of amendments to articles proposed in the first session in official ballot proceedings.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Three
AN ACT relative to the adoption of amendments to articles proposed in the first session in official ballot proceedings.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 Official Ballot; Amended Warrant Articles. Amend RSA 40:13, IV(b) to read as follows:
(b) Warrant articles that are amended shall be placed on the official ballot [for a final vote on the main motion, as amended] immediately following the original article, and each shall be clearly identified. The voters shall have the option of voting for the original article, the amended article, both articles, or neither article. If both the original article and the amended article pass, the article with the most votes shall prevail. In the event of a tie vote where both articles are adopted by the required majority, the governing body shall decide the issue.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage
