HOUSE BILL 1192
AN ACT relative to psychotropic drug recommendations by public employees.
ANALYSIS
This bill provides that any public employee who recommends psychotropic medication for a child shall also disclose the side effects of such medication.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Three
AN ACT relative to psychotropic drug recommendations by public employees.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Chapter; Psychotropic Drug Recommendations by Public Employees. Amend RSA by inserting after chapter 141-I the following new chapter:
CHAPTER 141-J
PSYCHOTROPIC DRUG RECOMMENDATIONS BY PUBLIC EMPLOYEES
141-J:1 Psychotropic Drug Recommendation; Disclosure of Side Effects Required. Any employee of state or local government, or any political subdivision thereof, who, in the performance of his or her official duties, recommends to a parent that his or her minor child receive psychotropic medication shall also disclose the potential side effects of such medication.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect January 1, 2005.
