AN ACT relative to reporting child custody statistics.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Three

AN ACT relative to reporting child custody statistics.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Section; Annulment, Divorce and Separation; Child Custody Reporting Requirement. Amend RSA 458 by inserting after section 52 the following new section:

458:53 Child Custody Reporting Requirement. The administrative office of the courts shall record the number of cases in which the physical custody of minor children is granted to the mother, father, both parents, or another party and the number of cases in which primary legal custody or primary legal residence is granted to the mother, father, both parents, or another party. The information shall identify the deciding marital master or judge and shall include all final orders and subsequent modifications. The information shall be part of the vital records maintained by the secretary of state, division of vital records administration and shall be available to the public, upon request.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect January 1, 2005.
