AN ACT relative to the retirement system classification for the director of field services, department of corrections.
ANALYSIS
This bill allows the director of field services, department of corrections, if certified as a police officer, to maintain group II membership in the New Hampshire retirement system.
This bill was requested by the department of corrections.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Three
AN ACT relative to the retirement system classification for the director of field services, department of corrections.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Section; Director of Field Services, Department of Corrections; Retirement System. Amend RSA 21-H by inserting after section 7 the following new section:
21-H:7-a Director of Field Services; Retirement System. For purposes of classification under the provisions of RSA 100-A, the director of field services, appointed under RSA 21-H:6, II, shall be considered a permanent policeman if the director was a permanent police member of group II prior to appointment as director of field services and continues to be certified as a police officer pursuant to RSA 504-A:12-a.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
