STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Three

A RESOLUTION concerning foliage protection.

Whereas, fall foliage plays an important role in New Hampshire's beauty, history, and travel and tourism; now, therefore, be it

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

That the general court hereby encourages federal forestry officials and orders state forestry officials to monitor the extinction of maple trees, any increases in oak and pine tree growth, and any growth of other foliage more tolerant of higher temperatures, in an effort to curb extinction of fall foliage; and

That the general court hereby directs the division of forests and lands, department of resources and economic development, to report biannually to the speaker of the house of representatives on changes observed through the foliage monitoring required by this resolution.
