STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Three
A RESOLUTION reaffirming the death penalty.
Whereas, the death penalty statute was enacted in New Hampshire in 1974; and
Whereas, the death penalty applies in capital murder cases as set forth in RSA 630:1; and
Whereas, a historical review of capital murder cases in this state conclusively shows an overwhelming tendency toward leniency in the consideration and application of the death penalty; and
Whereas the governor and the attorney general should reaffirm the purpose and use of the death penalty in the criminal justice system; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the New Hampshire house of representatives hereby urges the governor and the attorney general to reaffirm the purpose and use of the death penalty in the criminal justice system.
