HOUSE BILL 237

AN ACT relative to telephone rate disclosure.

ANALYSIS

This bill provides that it is a violation of the consumer protection act for a long-distance carrier to charge any rate that has not been disclosed to the consumer.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Five

AN ACT relative to telephone rate disclosure.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Paragraph; Consumer Protection; Acts Unlawful. Amend RSA 358-A:2 by inserting after paragraph XIV the following new paragraph:

XV. Imposing a charge or rate change for long-distance telecommunications service that has not been disclosed to the consumer.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect January 1, 2006.
