HOUSE BILL 445

AN ACT relative to the taking of certain game birds and fur-bearing animals.

ANALYSIS

This bill allows the fish and game department to set an open season for European partridge, and includes coyote and opossum in the definition of fur-bearing animals.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Five

AN ACT relative to the taking of certain game birds and fur-bearing animals.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

11:1 Fish and Game; Definitions; Fur-Bearing Animals. Amend RSA 207:1, VIII to read as follows:

VIII. Fur-Bearing Animals: Beaver, otter, marten, sable, mink, fisher or fisher cat, raccoon, bobcat, fox, coyote, opossum, weasel, skunk, and muskrat.

11:2 Fish and Game; Game Birds. Amend RSA 209:4 to read as follows:

209:4 No Open Season. There shall be no open season for [European partridge,] spruce grouse, upland plover, ptarmigan, and mourning dove (Zenaida macroura).

11:3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
