STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Five

AN ACT relative to the use of federal funds for technology improvements within the department of employment security.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

195:1 Appropriation of Federal Funds; Department of Employment Security. There is hereby appropriated out of federal funds made available to this state under section 903(d) of the Social Security Act, 42 U.S.C. section 1103(d), as amended, transferred to the state on March 13, 2002, the sum of $11,900,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, to be used, under the direction of the New Hampshire department of employment security for the purpose of developing and implementing a new automated unemployment compensation benefit system, including the upgrade or replacement of critical interfaces. Critical interfaces include but are not limited to interactive voice response, job matching, imaging, and web-enabled claim and appeal systems. Expenditures may include providing funds for hardware, software, equipment, staffing, technology maintenance, enhancements, and other purposes that are in accordance with any uses authorized by the United States Congress, now or in the future. Such funds shall exclusively be used for expenses authorized under section 903(d) of the Social Security Act, 42 U.S.C. section 1103(d), as amended.

195:2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect July 1, 2005.
