STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Six

AN ACT requiring a New Hampshire bank to credit a customer’s account within 24 hours of notification that a check is good.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Subdivision; Account Credit for Deposited Checks. Amend RSA 384 by inserting after section 68 the following new subdivision:

Account Credit for Deposited Checks

384:69 Credit for Deposited Checks. A New Hampshire bank shall credit the account of a customer for the deposit of a check within 24 hours of notification that the deposited check is good.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
