STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Six

AN ACT requiring the joint legislative committee on administrative rules to study methods for improving notice to the public of proposed administrative rules.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 Committee Charged. The joint legislative committee on administrative rules, established in RSA 541-A:2, shall study methods for improving notice to the public of proposed administrative rule changes. The committee shall study:

I. How to improve public knowledge of proposed rules and pending rulemaking procedures.

II. Improving Internet access to information about proposed rules and pending rulemaking procedures.

III. The necessity of requiring additional information in rulemaking notices.

2 Report. The committee shall report its findings and any recommendations for proposed legislation to the president of the senate, the speaker of the house of representatives, the senate clerk, the house clerk, the governor, and the state library on or before January 1, 2007.

3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
