HB 376-FN-A - FISCAL NOTE
AN ACT distributing certain meals and rooms tax revenues to the fish and game fund.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The Fish and Game Department and the Department of Revenue Administration state this bill will increase state fish and game fund revenue and decrease state general fund revenue by $4,745,000 in FY 2008 and each year thereafter. There will be no fiscal impact on county and local revenue or state, county and local expenditures.
METHODOLOGY:
The Fish and Game Department and the Department of Revenue Administration (DRA) state this bill will require four percent of the meals and rooms tax revenues distributed to the general fund to be distributed to the Fish and Game Fund. The DRA states the meals and room tax, less the motor vehicle rental portion, was $197,708,838 in FY 2006. The 60 percent distributed to the general fund was $118,625,303 ($197,708,838 * 60%). The fish and game fund revenue would increase by four percent of the 60 percent or $4,745,000 ($118,625,303 *4%).
