AN ACT changing the salary grade of certain department of safety positions.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 Department of Safety; Salaries. Amend RSA 94:1-a, I(b) by:
I. Inserting:
KK Department of safety director of state police
KK Department of safety director of motor vehicles
LL Department of safety assistant commissioner
MM Department of safety commissioner
II. Deleting:
II Department of safety director of state police
II Department of safety director of motor vehicles
JJ Department of safety assistant commissioner
LL Department of safety commissioner
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect July 1, 2007.

HB 489-FN - FISCAL NOTE
AN ACT changing the salary grade of certain department of safety positions.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The Department of Safety has determined this bill will increase state highway fund expenditures by $36,753 in FY 2008 and each year thereafter. There will be no fiscal impact on county and local expenditures or on state, county and local revenues.
METHODOLOGY:
The Department of Safety stated this bill intends to increase the salaries of the Department of Safety’s unclassified positions of Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner, Director of Motor Vehicles and Director of State Police. The Department stated that all incumbents are at the maximum step in their current salary grade and would be placed at the maximum level in the proposed salary grade. This bill does not contain an appropriation. The cost of the proposed salaries are calculated below;
