SENATE BILL 228

AN ACT relative to the supervision of persons released on bail.

ANALYSIS

This bill provides that the department of corrections shall not be required to supervise or monitor persons released on bail.

This bill is a request of the department of corrections.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Seven

AN ACT relative to the supervision of persons released on bail.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Paragraph; Release of a Defendant Pending Trial. Amend RSA 597:2 by inserting after paragraph VI the following new paragraph:

VII. The department of corrections shall not be required to supervise or monitor persons released on bail.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
