STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Seven

AN ACT relative to the procedure for counties to apply for, accept, and expend federal, state, or other grants.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Section; Counties; Grants. Amend RSA 28 by inserting after section 3-a the following new section:

28:3-b Grants. No department, officer, or employee of a county may apply for a grant from a federal, state, or other source for which the department or county is eligible unless such application has been approved by the county commissioners. No department, officer, or employee of a county may accept any such grant from a federal, state, or other source unless such acceptance has been approved by the county commissioners. Upon receipt of any such grant, the sums received shall be expended according to the terms under which they are received upon the order of the commissioners with the approval of the executive committee of the county convention.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
