STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Seven

AN ACT relative to requirements for admission to the New Hampshire bar upon motion.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 Admission to Practice Law. Amend RSA 311:2 to read as follows:

311:2 Admission to Practice. Any citizen of the age of 18 years, of good moral character and suitable qualifications, on application to the supreme court shall be admitted to practice as an attorney. For admission to the practice of law, upon motion, without taking and passing the New Hampshire bar examination, the supreme court shall require graduation from either:

I. A law school approved by the American Bar Association; or

II. A law school with a course of study substantially equivalent to that of a law school approved by the American Bar Association.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect January 1, 2008.
