STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Seven
A RESOLUTION urging Congress to rename the Veterans Administration Hospital the Styles Bridges Veterans Administration Hospital.
Whereas, Henry Styles Bridges served as governor of the state of New Hampshire from 1934-1936 and as a United States Senator from January 3, 1937 until his death on November 26, 1961; and
Whereas, Henry Styles Bridges served the state of New Hampshire as a public servant for 27 years; and
Whereas, Henry Styles Bridges worked hard to bring the Veterans Administration Hospital to New Hampshire and guided it during its long development; and
Whereas, Henry Styles Bridges as a retired reserve officer was always sensitive to the needs of his military colleagues; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:
That the general court of New Hampshire hereby urges the United States Congress to rename the Veterans Administration Hospital in Manchester, New Hampshire the Styles Bridges Veterans Administration Hospital; and
That copies of this resolution be forwarded by the house clerk to the President of the United States Senate, the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, and to each member of the New Hampshire congressional delegation.
