SENATE BILL 440
AN ACT relative to requiring occupational boards and commissions to include relevant military experience or training in satisfying requirements for engaging in a regulated profession.
ANALYSIS
This bill requires boards and commissions regulating occupations and professions to adopt rules for including credit or satisfying requirements for licensure, certification, or registration with an applicant’s military experience and training.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Eight
AN ACT relative to requiring occupational boards and commissions to include relevant military experience or training in satisfying requirements for engaging in a regulated profession.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
198:1 New Section; General Administration of Regulatory Boards and Commissions. Amend RSA 332-G by inserting after section 6 the following new section:
332-G:7 Military Service Occupational Experience or Training. Every board or commission shall adopt rules under RSA 541-A to allow applicants before the regulatory board or commission to use directly relevant experience or training acquired in the armed services, as defined in RSA 21:50, II, as satisfactory experience or training required for such licensure, certification, or registration. This section shall not eliminate any requirement for examination of applicants. The rules may provide for any or all of the following:
I. Apprenticeship credit when required for licensure or certification, for directly related experience.
II. Inclusion of experience or training as prior experience in the regulated occupation or profession.
III. Military training or education as satisfaction of prerequisites for licensure, certification, or registration by a board or commission.
198:2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
