HOUSE BILL 161

AN ACT repealing protection of uncopyrighted compositions in state law.

ANALYSIS

This bill repeals a state law requiring consent of the owner or author to publish, reproduce, or sell an uncopyrighted composition. The bill also repeals the penalty for violation of this section.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Nine

AN ACT repealing protection of uncopyrighted compositions in state law.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 Repeal. RSA 352:1 and 352:2, relative to protection of uncopyrighted compositions, are repealed.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect January 1, 2010.
