AN ACT relative to automobile insurance premiums.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Nine
AN ACT relative to automobile insurance premiums.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Section; Motor Vehicle Insurance Rate Regulation; Younger Drivers. Amend RSA 412 by inserting after section 17-a the following new section:
412:17-b Younger Drivers. An insurer may not impose a higher rate or surcharge on a policy of automobile insurance, as defined in RSA 417-A, because a driver is under a certain age unless the insurer also provides a discount or credit available to such drivers based on a history of safe driving, and criteria for obtaining the discount or credit have been determined by the commissioner to be reasonable.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect January 1, 2010.
