AN ACT relative to warrant articles at official ballot meetings.

ANALYSIS

This bill requires the amount of any appropriation involved with a warrant article to be included in such article along with the estimated tax increase necessary to pay for it.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Nine

AN ACT relative to warrant articles at official ballot meetings.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Paragraph; Use of Official Ballot. Amend RSA 40:13 by inserting after paragraph VIII the following new paragraph:

VIII-a. If a warrant article involves an appropriation, the amount and the estimated tax increase necessary to pay for it shall be included in the warrant article.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
