AN ACT clarifying the intent of a transfer of general funds to the highway fund.
ANALYSIS
This bill clarifies that the purpose of a transfer of general funds to the highway fund made in the FY 2008-2009 operating budget was to provide state matching funds for the purchase and operating costs of buses as part of the Interstate 93 corridor construction project.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Nine
AN ACT clarifying the intent of a transfer of general funds to the highway fund.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
82:1 General Fund; Transfer to Highway Fund. In accordance with footnote 26 in the FY 2008-2009 operating budget, 2007, 262:26, as amended by 2009, 1:4, the commissioner of administrative services shall have cause to have transferred $6,750,000 from the general fund to the highway fund on January 1, 2008, and shall cause to have transferred $1,750,000 from the general fund to the highway fund on January 1, 2009. The intent of the transfers is, in part, to provide the entire state match of $2,008,000 for federal funds received for the purchase of buses and 3 years of operating costs of bus service in the Interstate 93 corridor as submitted by the department of transportation and approved by the Federal Highway Administration in its record of decision dated April 28, 2004, for construction of the Interstate 93 widening project.
82:2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
