STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Nine

AN ACT waiving medical records fees for persons applying for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Social Security Disability Income (SSDI).

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Paragraph; Medical Records; Fees. Amend RSA 332-I:1 by inserting after paragraph III the following new paragraph:

IV. Notwithstanding paragraph I, no fee shall be charged by any health care provider to any applicant or beneficiary for the cost of one copy of his or her medical records to be used to apply for benefits or appeal for benefits under the Social Security Act.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
