AN ACT relative to identification required by banks.

ANALYSIS

This bill prohibits banks from requiring more than one form of identification to complete a banking transaction.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Nine

AN ACT relative to identification required by banks.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Paragraph; Negotiable Instruments; Presentment; Reasonable Forms of Identification. Amend RSA 382-A:3-501 by inserting after subparagraph (b) the following new paragraph:

(c) Reasonable identification shall not include more than one form of identification per transaction.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
