STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Ten
AN ACT requiring state employees to participate in a government-run health insurance option as enacted by Congress.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Section; State Employee Health Insurance; Government-Run Option. Amend RSA 21-I by inserting after section 30-e the following new section:
21-I:30-f State Employee Health Insurance; Government-Run Option. If a government-run health insurance option is enacted by Congress, the state shall require all state employees to participate in such option and forgo any current health insurance options.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.

AN ACT requiring state employees to participate in a government-run health insurance option as enacted by Congress.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The Department of Administrative Services states this bill will have an indeterminable fiscal impact on state expenditures. This bill will have no fiscal impact on state, county, and local revenue or on county and local expenditures.
METHODOLOGY:
The Department of Administrative Services states this bill will require state employees to participate in a government run health insurance option if one is enacted by the United States Congress. The Department states that Congress has not yet enacted such a plan, but the Department assumes such a plan would entail a cost to participate. The Department is unable to determine the exact fiscal impact at this time.
