AN ACT relative to the sunset date of legislative study committees.

This bill provides that all legislative study committees, commissions, and task forces shall terminate not later than the end of the biennial legislative term.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Ten
AN ACT relative to the sunset date of legislative study committees.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 Legislative Study Committees; Sunset. RSA 14:49 is repealed and reenacted to read as follows:
14:49 Sunset Date for Legislative Study Committees.
I. The statutory authorization for every study committee, commission, or task force, however entitled, which is established by the general court, whether or not limited solely to members of the general court, shall be repealed on the date on which the committee is required to file its report, and not later than the date of the dissolution of the legislature at 12:01 a.m. on the first Wednesday of December in the even-numbered year prior to the beginning of the subsequent legislative session.
II. It is the intent of the general court that the authorization for all study committees, commissions, and task forces, however entitled, shall terminate at the end of the biennial legislative term.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
