AN ACT relative to residency restrictions for sex offenders.
ANALYSIS
This bill prohibits any political subdivision of the state from adopting an ordinance or bylaw that restricts the residence of a sexual offender or an offender against children.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Ten
AN ACT relative to residency restrictions for sex offenders.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Section; Registration of Criminal Offenders; Residency Restrictions Prohibited. Amend RSA 651-B by inserting after section 12 the following new section:
651-B:13 Residency Restrictions Prohibited. No political subdivision of the state shall adopt an ordinance or bylaw that restricts in any way the residence of a sexual offender or an offender against children. Any such ordinance or bylaw adopted by a political subdivision of the state prior to the effective date of this section shall be null and void on the effective date of this section.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
