SENATE BILL 417
AN ACT relative to national health care reform and Medicaid.
ANALYSIS
This bill prohibits the expansion of the Medicaid program if Congress passes a national health insurance plan unless the expansion is approved by the general court or is paid for by the federal government.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Ten
AN ACT relative to national health care reform and Medicaid.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Section; Expansion of Medicaid Prohibited. Amend RSA 167 by inserting after section 34 the following new section:
167:34-a Expansion of Medicaid Prohibited. If a national health insurance plan is enacted into law by the federal government, New Hampshire shall not expand its Medicaid program unless the expansion is approved by the general court or the federal government pays for such expansion.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
