HOUSE BILL 511
AN ACT relative to retired judges over 70 years of age.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Eleven
AN ACT relative to retired judges over 70 years of age.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
221:1 New Section; Retired Justices Over 70 Years of Age. Amend RSA 493-A by inserting after section 1-b the following new section:
493-A:1-c Retired Justices Over 70 Years of Age. No justice who has reached the mandatory retirement age of 70 years shall serve as a judge in any judicial capacity, except as a judicial referee pursuant to this chapter.
221:2 Applicability. Section 1 of this act shall apply only to cases filed on or after the effective date of this act.
221:3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
