HOUSE BILL 1215-LOCAL
AN ACT relative to town library budgets.

This bill requires adoption of a default town library budget when a library budget warrant article is defeated in an official ballot town.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twelve
AN ACT relative to town library budgets.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Paragraph; Use of Official Ballot; Town Library Budget. Amend RSA 40:13 by inserting after paragraph X the following new paragraph:
X-a. If a warrant article containing the town library budget is not adopted, the town shall be deemed to have approved the default budget for the town library.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
