STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twelve

A RESOLUTION honoring Charlie St. Clair for his contributions to the tourism industry in New Hampshire.

Whereas, Charlie St. Clair is the indefatigable promoter of Motorcycle Week, an annual tradition centered in Weirs Beach; and

Whereas, Motorcycle Week draws hundreds of thousands of tourists to New Hampshire every year, shortly before the traditional summer vacation season; and

Whereas, tourists coming to New Hampshire for Motorcycle Week patronize businesses throughout the state of New Hampshire; and

Whereas, tourists attending Motorcycle Week provide substantial revenue to the state through the payment of highway tolls and taxes on rooms, meals, and fuel; and

Whereas, the efforts of Charlie St. Clair to boost attendance at Motorcycle Week contribute to a substantial increase in state revenue without the expenditure of any state funds; now, therefore, be it

Resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the general court of New Hampshire hereby recognizes and grants its heartfelt thanks to Charlie St. Clair for his contributions to the tourism industry in New Hampshire; and

That a copy of this resolution, signed by the speaker of the house of representatives and the president of the senate, be presented to Charlie St. Clair.
