STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twelve

A RESOLUTION supporting the use of an aversive agent in certain engine coolants and antifreeze to render them impalatable.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

Whereas, certain engine coolants and antifreeze containing ethelyne glycol are extremely dangerous and ingestion of such chemicals can cause death; and

Whereas, small children and animals are often attracted to engine coolants and antifreeze because of its sweet flavor; and

Whereas, the addition of an aversive agent such as dentonium benzoate would render engine coolants and antifreeze bitter tasting and unpalatable; now, therefore, be it

Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

That the general court hereby urges antifreeze manufacturers to add an aversive agent such as dentonium benzoate to engine coolants and antifreeze.
