HOUSE BILL 160
AN ACT relative to a school district’s transportation responsibility for pupils of divorced parents with joint decision making responsibility.
ANALYSIS
This bill provides that a school district shall not be responsible for transporting a pupil of divorced parents with joint decision making responsibility beyond the designated attendance area for the school to which the child is assigned.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Thirteen
AN ACT relative to a school district’s transportation responsibility for pupils of divorced parents with joint decision making responsibility.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
165:1 School Attendance; Legal Residence Required. Amend RSA 193:12, II(a)(2)(B) to read as follows:
(B) Nothing in this subparagraph shall require a school district to provide transportation for a child to another school in the school district in which the child resides, or beyond the designated attendance area for the school to which the child is assigned, or beyond the geographical limits of the school district in which the child resides.
165:2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
