AN ACT establishing the purple heart toll pass for qualifying veterans.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Thirteen

AN ACT establishing the purple heart toll pass for qualifying veterans.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Section; Special E-Z Pass for Purple Heart Veterans. Amend RSA 237 by inserting after section 16-g the following new section:

237:16-h Special E-Z Pass for Purple Heart Veterans. The commissioner shall issue a special E-Z Pass transponder permitting the holder to pass through New Hampshire toll booths without paying the toll to any veteran who was awarded the Purple Heart medal in a qualifying war or armed conflict as defined in RSA 72:28, V, and who was honorably discharged, provided that such person has furnished the commissioner with satisfactory proof of these circumstances.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.

The Legislative Budget Assistant has determined that this legislation has a total fiscal impact of less than $10,000 in each of the fiscal years 2013 through 2017.
