HOUSE BILL 387
AN ACT relative to immunity of guardians ad litem.
ANALYSIS
This bill provides judicial immunity to guardians ad litem in the performance of duties delegated to them by the court, except when the guardian ad litem is grossly negligent or acts maliciously or corruptly.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Thirteen
AN ACT relative to immunity of guardians ad litem.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Section; Judicial Immunity for Guardians ad Litem. Amend RSA 508 by inserting after section 21 the following new section:
508:22 Judicial Immunity for Guardians ad Litem. Any person serving as a court-appointed guardian ad litem shall have judicial immunity from any liability, civil or criminal, that might otherwise be imposed or incurred for the performance of duties delegated to the guardian ad litem by the court except when the guardian ad litem is grossly negligent or acts maliciously or corruptly.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect January 1, 2014.
