STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Fourteen

AN ACT relative to unlawful possession of alcoholic beverages.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Paragraphs; Unlawful Possession; Exemptions. Amend RSA 179:10 by inserting after paragraph II the following new paragraphs:

III. Any person under 21 who possesses any liquor or alcoholic beverages for medical reasons shall be exempt from this section.

IV. Any person under 21 who possesses any liquor or alcoholic beverages for religious reasons shall be exempt from this section.

V. Any person at least 18 years of age but less than 21 years of age, who is in possession of liquor or alcoholic beverages, who is in a place where alcoholic beverages are not sold, and who is in the physical presence of that person’s parent, legal guardian, or spouse who is 21 years of age or older shall be exempt from this section.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
