AN ACT relative to notice of water release from dams.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Fourteen
AN ACT relative to notice of water release from dams.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 Erection and Inspection of Dams; Duty of Owner. Amend RSA 482:11-a to read as follows:
482:11-a Duty of Owner.
I. The owner of a dam shall maintain and repair the dam so that it shall not become a dam in disrepair. The owner shall develop an emergency action plan for any dam, the failure of which may threaten life or property.
II. The owner of a dam shall give a 24-hour written notice of a planned release of water from the dam to the emergency manager of the town immediately downstream of the dam.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
