AN ACT relative to obstruction of traffic on certain highways.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Fifteen

AN ACT relative to obstruction of traffic on certain highways.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Paragraph; Minimum Speed Regulation; Duty to Pull Over. Amend RSA 265:64 by inserting after paragraph II the following new paragraph:

III. A person operating a motor vehicle that is impeding the normal reasonable movement of traffic on a 2-lane class II highway shall pull the motor vehicle off the roadway at an available, safe pull-off location if there are 5 or more motor vehicles immediately following the motor vehicle. This paragraph shall not apply within the compact section of a city or town listed in RSA 229:5 or to class II highways in cities and towns determined by the commissioner. Any person who violates the provisions of this paragraph shall be guilty of a violation and shall be fined not more than $100.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect January 1, 2016.
