AN ACT relative to permission required for baiting for game on the property of another.


ANALYSIS

This bill requires that a person wishing to use bait on the land of another person obtain written permission from a property owner. The bill removes the requirement of filing a permit and map with the conservation officer.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Sixteen

AN ACT relative to permission required for baiting for game on the property of another.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 Fish and Game; Baiting; Permission Amend RSA 207:3-d, II to read as follows:

II. No person shall engage in the act of baiting on the property of another unless he or she has secured from the owner or occupant of the property [upon which the bait is to be deposited a permit in writing, signed by the owner or occupant, and until he has filed a copy of the permit with the conservation officer in whose district the person plans to bait, together with a topographic map or copy thereof showing the specific location of the bait site] written permission which the person wishing to bait shall provide upon request.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
