STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Sixteen
AN ACT relative to procedures for appraisals by assessing officials.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Paragraph; Appraisals of Property; Requirements Before Statistical Update. Amend RSA 21-J:11 by inserting after paragraph III the following new paragraph:
IV. No appraisal made by a municipality or conducted by a business pursuant to a contract or agreement approved by the commissioner under this section shall apply a statistical update to a particular property until at least 3 attempts are made by the assessing official to conduct an in-person inspection of such property, and provided that the 3 attempts occur on different days and are made following a written request, with contact information and follow-up procedures provided after any failed attempt to inspect the property.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
