HOUSE BILL 1305

AN ACT relative to the use of an ignition interlock device.


AMENDED ANALYSIS

This bill requires a person receiving a limited privilege license to be subject to the ignition interlock program for one year after restoration of driving privileges. This bill also establishes an exemption from the prohibition on the use of mobile electronic devices while driving for actions required by an ignition interlock device.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Sixteen

AN ACT relative to the use of an ignition interlock device.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

168:1 New Paragraph; Limited Driving Privilege; Ignition Interlock Program. Amend RSA 263:57-b by inserting after paragraph V the following new paragraph:

VI. As a condition of receiving a limited privilege license, the person shall agree to be subject to the ignition interlock program for one year immediately following restoration of driving privileges.

168:2 New Subparagraph; Use of Mobile Electronic Devices While Driving. Amend RSA 265:79-c, II by inserting after subparagraph (c) the following new subparagraph:

(d) To perform any action required by an ignition interlock device.

168:3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
