AN ACT relative to employee payments to unions.


ANALYSIS

This bill permits an employee who is not a member of a union, but who is required to pay fees to a union, to opt to have such fees contributed to a charitable organization.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Sixteen

AN ACT relative to employee payments to unions.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 Protective Legislation; Withholding of Wages; Union Dues. Amend RSA 275:48, I(b)(1) to read as follows:

(1) Union dues, provided that, for any employee who is not a member of a union but who is required to pay union dues, the employer provides an option to have such fees contributed to a charitable organization of the employee's choice;

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
