STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Sixteen

AN ACT prohibiting the sale or possession of sky lanterns.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Section; Sky Lanterns. Amend RSA 153 by inserting after section 5-c the following new section:

153:5-d Retail Sale or Possession of Sky Lanterns Prohibited. The possession or retail sale of sky lanterns is prohibited. As used in this section, “sky lantern” means an unmanned aerial luminary balloon requiring fire underneath for propulsion. Whoever shall violate the provisions of this section shall be subject to the penalty in RSA 153:24.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect January 1, 2017.
