SENATE BILL 331

AN ACT relative to fulfilling the requirement for a notarized signature electronically.


ANALYSIS

This bill allows for the requirement of a notarized signature to be met electronically by an electronic signature under the penalty of perjury.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Sixteen

AN ACT relative to fulfilling the requirement for a notarized signature electronically.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Section; Notarized Signatures. Amend RSA 21 by inserting after section 52 the following new section:

21:53 Notarized Signature. The requirement for a notarized signature on documents filed electronically shall be satisfied by an electronic signature "under the penalty of perjury."

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
