STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Seventeen

AN ACT relative to the qualifications for the position of consumer advocate.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 Public Utilities Commission; Support Personnel; Qualification for Office of Consumer Advocate. Amend RSA 363:28, I(a) to read as follows:

(a) A consumer advocate, appointed by the governor and council, who shall be either a qualified attorney admitted to practice in this state or who shall have background or experience, or both, in one or more of the following: engineering, economics, accounting, or finance. If the consumer advocate is other than an attorney, an attorney shall be on the consumer advocate's staff. The consumer advocate shall serve a 4-year term and until a successor is appointed and qualified.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
