AN ACT requiring review of default budgets by the department of revenue administration.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Eighteen

AN ACT requiring review of default budgets by the department of revenue administration.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 Municipal Budget Law. Amend RSA 32:5, VII(b) to read as follows:

(b) The governing body in official ballot referenda jurisdictions operating under RSA 40:13 shall post certified copies of the default budget form or any amended default budget form with the proposed operating budget and the warrant. A certified copy shall be forwarded by the chair of the budget committee, if any, or otherwise by the chair of the governing body, to the commissioner of revenue administration pursuant to RSA 21-J:34.

2 Department of Revenue Administration; Reports Required. Amend RSA 21-J:34, VI(a) to read as follows:

VI.(a) The governing body of the town, school district, or village district, or the budget committee in towns operating under the municipal budget law, shall file the budget and the default budget within 20 days of the close of the annual or special meeting.

3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
