AN ACT relative to arbitration agreements in nursing home contracts.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Seventeen

AN ACT relative to arbitration agreements in nursing home contracts.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Paragraph; Residential Care and Health Care Facility Licensing; Patients' Bill of Rights; Arbitration Agreements. Amend RSA 151:21 by inserting after paragraph XXI the following new paragraph:

XXII. The patient shall not be required to sign a mandatory arbitration agreement as a precondition for medical treatment or admission to the facility. Any such agreement shall be void and unenforceable.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect January 1, 2018.
